COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE
SCHOOL REOPENING COMMITTEE
BUSINESS SUPPORT COMMITTEE
Distributes flyers and information to raise awareness for ReOpen San Diego and our message in the community. Sets up information tables at other events and in public places such as parks and shopping centers. Creates and produces flyers, banners, yard signs, and other materials.
Determines actions towards reopening all public schools. These actions may include lobbying local school boards and teachers’ unions on behalf of reopening all schools to capacity with no physical distancing and no masks. Effectively communicate to the community, school boards, and lawmakers the harm to children of closed schools and online instruction. Also, disseminate the science on the scientific pointlessness of physical distancing and masking as well as the harm both measures impose on children.
Support and provide resources to help businesses to stay open. Put together a “business support packet” which could include: legal resources, scientific studies that support safe reopening at full capacity, the science against masks, emotional support resources, and more
PUBLIC POLICY/ LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE
Lobby local lawmakers and enforcers on behalf of local small businesses and schools in order to show them evidence for the need for reopening and the unlawfulness of telling people and schools to close. Research who makes the laws, who enforces the laws, what the process would be to fight back, develop relationships with local lawmakers and sheriffs, disseminate information for local board of supervisors meetings including how to call in and comment. Forge working relationships with local lawmakers and enforcers.
RALLIES, PROTESTS, MARCHES COMMITTEE
Organize events that would raise awareness for the group and our message in the community, incorporating partners of Reopen San Diego, local lawmakers and politicians, and others. Publicize to the community, group, and media.
